Scenario:

1. The Date field is first converted to Measure.
2. Currently the available aggregations for a dimension field converted to measure are Count and Count Distinct.
   • The enhancement is to add the Min and Max aggregations when the field is a Date field.
3. When Min/Max is used, it has the following impact areas:
   • The date grouping will be Exact Date.
   • The values are formatted using an available Date Format.
   • In Table mode, the field value is displayed using the selected Date format.
   • In Chart mode, the an axis is displayed for the date field. The axis labels are displayed in the selected Date format.
     • This may be somewhat complex because Measure and Dimension axes have different behaviors, and thus implementations. A Min/Max aggregation on a Date fields results in a Measure axis, but the behavior should be that of a Dimension axis.
   • In Filter control, the value is displayed using the selected Date format.
   • In Color deck, the value is displayed using the selected Date format.

To limit scope, we can defer the Chart mode support to the next release. Thus for this release, any Date field with Min/Max aggregation, placed in the Columns or Rows deck, will be marked as "invalid location", which is in Orange color.

We decided to defer this to the next release.
