I have 10 queries in my workbook. The longest query takes 5 minutes, but serially they take 30. I'd like to be able to run all my queries in parallel, so it takes only 5 minutes to open the workbook, not 30.
The implementation of this could be complicated due to many triggers in the code related to workbook loading.
As an alternative, we could do the query execution in the background during workbook loading so that the UI is not blocked during this entire 30 minutes.
There's a related issue that we have implemented in v19.5 where the query execution is done in the background during auto/manual refresh: Issue #13172
We could enhance this so that the query execution also takes place in the background during workbook loading. We'll need to make sure to execute the query for the selected worksheet first.
