The heat map visualization gives you an easy view to analyze data by displaying measure values in varying size and color gradients. For example, you can analyze revenue (in color) and profit (in square size) for your products, based on the shipping method.
The attribute function helps you to identify unique values by answering the question "Does every row have the same value?" If yes, return that value. Otherwise, return *. For example, in our data set, only the people in the city of Houston consume Black Coffee. Hence Visual Analytics returns Houston as a unique record for this brand. On the other hand, people in multiple cities consume Cappuccino. Hence Visual Analytics returns * for this brand.
Disaggregating measures is a new enhancement that enables you to analyze data by plotting your underlying data values. For example, your company made a profit of $3,356 on the Wheels product in the month of July. On disaggregating measures, you can see the distribution of individual sales, and analyze whether your product incurred losses during this period .
The highlight table is a new table enhancement that applies a background color to the table cells. With a measure in the color deck, you can analyze the full range of values in varying color shades from the lowest to the highest. For example, you can compare revenue against profit for different products based on the shipping method where profit appears in different color shades, representing the value range.
The drill down and drill up capabilities on the date and date time fields is a new navigational enhancement. Clicking "+" expands the hierarchy and clicking "-" collapses the hierarchy. This streamlined user interaction is supported in Columns, Rows and Chart Properties decks.
The new Size deck in Bar charts lets you assign different sizes to each bar by placing a measure field in the size deck. Additionally, the Size slider allows you to make the bars wider or narrower. We've also added the Size deck in line charts which enables you to make the lines thicker or thinner.
