One of the most popular features requested by our ExcelSQL users is to offer support for WHERE clause. Aqua Data Studio Version 17.0 has enhanced our ExcelSQL syntax to support WHERE, ORDER BY, GROUP BY, HAVING, and JOIN clauses. You can register a Microsoft Excel connection to a directory containing Excel files and use features such as Query Analyzer, Query Builder and Visual Analytics to connect, query, and generate results from XLS and XLSX files. View our Excel SQL Query Reference.
The WHERE clause filters records and includes support for logical operators (AND, OR, IN, LIKE, IS NULL, IS NOT NULL) and comparison operators (=, <>, <, >, <= and >=).
The ORDER BY clause sorts records in the ascending order by default.
The types of joins available in ExcelSQL are INNER JOIN, LEFT JOIN, and RIGHT JOIN. The INNER JOIN returns rows when there is a match in both tables. LEFT JOIN returns all rows from the left table, even if there are no matches in the right table. RIGHT JOIN returns all rows from the right table, even if there are no matches in the left tables.
Use the GROUP BY clause and aggregate functions together to group results in multiple columns.
The HAVING clause filters records using the aggregate functions.
