Using the Hsqldb JDBC driver 2.3.2 configured as the Generic JDBC driver right clicking on a table has limited options:

• No Create/Alter/Drop Table
• No Edit Data
• No Scripting Options
• No Table Properties
• No Import
• No Object Search
• No Schema/Server/ER generation

Given that much of the meta data for tables/columns is available via standard JDBC calls (and is clearly being pulled given the contents of the Columns, Indexes and Primary Key folders) I would assuming that many of these options should be available when using the Generic JDBC driver.
