When you run a query (SQL Server in my case) with an Order By clause, you get your grid results sorted correctly based on your query.  But if you choose to highlight the results and do a copy and then paste them into excel, the order is not retained.  In order to retain the order you have to export to excel.  I can't think of any reason why this would be the expected behavior.  Please have a look.
