I checked this on OS X back to v14.0.1 and it occurs there

I still see this in 14.0.10-4

1. Go to File > Options > Results Format > Apache Hive

2. use the mouse to select "float" and select the format #000.00

3. click ok

4. quit the application

5. reopen the application and go back to File > Options > Results Format > Apache Hive

6. pick "float" and notice what you saved in step 2 is no longer there.

Is this issue unique to Hive or applies for any DB?

This is unique to Apache Hive. Works for MongoDB and Cloudera
