1: Connect to any database server.
2: Go to Server Properties window.
Switch to "Advanced" tab
Select Data warehouse mode: Write only
Save the connection.
3: Now open query analyzer with this server.
4: Write a Select query and execute it.
A warning message is displayed: This is marked as a write only datawarehouse. Do you want to proceed?
However this message is not displayed for Update, Delete and Insert queries.
5: Similar message is displayed for QB also, since it always execute a select query.
6: Now Go to Server Properties window.
Switch to "Advanced" tab
Select Data warehouse mode: Read only
Save the connection.
For this connection we should display warning messages whenever user executes following queries.
1) Query Analyzer: Whenever user executes Insert, Update or Delete queries.
2) Table Data Editor: Whenever user inserts a new record or updates/deletes existing record and clicks on SAVE button.
We won't be fixing this as of now and the changes we did in 12529 is sufficient.
