CDH 5.2.0 VM, Connection Type : Impala, Port : 21050
Steps to reproduce :
1. Right click on Impala server in Local servers tree
2. Select Server Properties option
3. In Edit Server Properties window switch to Filter tab
4. In Object Folder pane click 'New' button
5. In Folder Filter popup Select 'Table' from Folder dropdown list
6. Check Include All radio button in Primary Filter
7. In Secondary Filter write secondary filter as '-<table_name>'.
eg. -sample_*
8. Click OK button.
9. Click Save button on Edit Server Properties window.
10. Now Select Impala server in Local Server tree and Expand it
11. Go to Databases --> Tables folder.
Here it is observed that, Under Tables folder excluded table is also displayed.
Objects are not filtered out.

Cloudera Quickstart VM CDH5.2.0 [Hive 0.13.1] , Distribution: Cloudera, Connection Type: Hiveserver2
Cloudera Quickstart VM CDH5.2.0 , Connection Type: Impala
For remaining other distribution listed below, this issue is not observed:
a]Apache Hadoop2.4, Hive 0.14, Distribution: Apache, Connection Type: Hiveserver2
b] Hortonworks HDP2.2 Quickstart VM , Distribution: Hortonworks, Connection Type: Hiveserver2
