The "Choose Server or Database" dialog may take a while to load depending on how many connection files there are and where the files reside. For those users who just want to open .sql files in Text Editor, they need to wait for the "Choose Server or Database" dialog before making the selection to open the file in Text Editor.
When user selects to open a .sql file, first prompt the user whether to open it in Query Analyzer or Text Editor. If user chooses to open the file in Query Analyzer, then we'll bring up the "Choose Server or Database" dialog.
Works with .sql", ".proc", ".tql", ".tsql", ".plsql", ".pks", ".pkb", ".cql" in ADS v15.0.14-8. See attached screenshot
We've decided not to make this change. We are going to do more debugging with the customer who experiences performance problem with the "Choose Server or Database" dialog first. Based on the results of the debug sessions, we'll then determine what the changes should be.
For now, I've reverted the code changes made for this issue.
