Take a look at the attached screenshot. I've created a calc field to combine multiple fields together to be displayed.
Instead of the user having to create a calc field & type in an formula, we should have a simple UI way of the user combine multiple fields. For instance, in the data pane, the user should be able to select multiple fields & then choose "Create Combined Field" action.
This should work for N number of fields. It should not be restricted to only 2 fields.
Also consider that if I drag a dim field on top of an existing dim field in the rows / columns deck, this action automatically creates a combined field.
Verified in ADS 19-beta-30
a) Combined field feature is now supported in VA.
b) Ctrl+Select multiple fields in dimension pane, "Create Combined field" option is displayed in context menu.
c) In Create COmbined field dialog, user can select separator from dropdown or can manually enter any separator.
d) Preview of the field is available in dialog.
e) User can change sequence of individual fields in a combined field, by drgging and changing positions of field columns in dialog.
f) On saving, combined field is displayed in Dimensions pane and can be used in chart.
Following part mentioned in issue description is however not yet supported:
"Also consider that if I drag a dim field on top of an existing dim field in the rows / columns deck, this action automatically creates a combined field."
