According to Redshift documentation, Redshift now supports isValid starting w/ version 1.2.1

Tasks:

1) Remove the SELECT 1 call that was introduced in lieu of isValid() for Redshift. We should not be doing this

2) Test isValid() using JDBC Driver 1.2.1.
