Scenario 1:
In ADS, take an existing Query Analyzer window & make it floating. While the floating window has focus, invoke the keyboard action Ctrl + Q (to launch a new Query Analyzer tab). The Choose Server dialog appears. Choose a valid server/DB & click OK. A new Query Analyzer tab is opened in the ADS main frame, not in the floating window. This is a bug. The Query Analyzer tab should have opened in the floating window since the floating window had focus.
Scenario 2:
In the above described setup, have your focus in the main frame instead of the floating window. Then initiate a Ctrl Q operation. Notice that the Query Analyzer tab is opened in the main frame but the floating window has focus. This is a bug. Since the QA tab was opened in the main frame, the main frame should have focus.
I've reproduced these scenarios on both OS X & Windows. Once we have the fix in v18, we should back port it to v17 as well.
@qa - please test creating documents (and QA tabs) on main frame, floating window, and vertical/horizontal groups for regression
Verified in ADS v19.0.0-dev-4. Ctrl+Q now opens up in the correct Query Analyzer tab even if it is main frame, floating window. Vertical/horizontal groups also works fine.
