Upgrade the Aqua Data Studio and Aqua Data Server jre.

v19.5
Priority Major
Complexity Unknown
Component App - Java 1.8
Version 19.5

The jre should be updated to the latest version.

There is a jre issue in Windows which causes ADS to crash when using JFileChooser. This is fixed in version JDK 1.8u152. See this post.

https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8179014

There is an issue in OSX that causes network performance problems on macOS Sierra on some machines.  See this post ...

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/39636792/jvm-takes-a-long-time-to-resolve-ip-address-for-localhost/

And our post here ... in which we rolled back the JVM version
https://www.aquaclusters.com/app/home/project/public/aquadatastudio/discussion/GeneralDiscussions/post/238/Aqua-Data-Studio-18-0-3-Minor-Fixes-and-Enhancements

The network performance issue can be easily seen by going to Help > Support Information. On machines which experience this issue, this screen will take a noticeably long time to load. I experienced this issue on my machine & was able to workaround it by using the suggestion in the stackoverflow post.

I don't know if either Oracle or Apple will ever address this issue. It seems to only occur on a limited subset of OS X machines running macOS Sierra. I tried newer JVM releases of Oracle in Jul / Aug and the problem still existed.

Currently, Java for Windows is at version "1.8.0_102" where Java for OSX is at version "1.8.0_40"

When we do this upgrade, we need to make sure that we are not causing breakage with the above issues and perhaps other issues.
