When adding the instance name in a MS SQL Server properties, the generation of the url is not adding the instance name. See attached screenshots.

Please take a look at following class how to retrieve named instance value: ConnectionUiUtil.parseNamedInstance(String host)
To update the jdbc URL, look into ConnectionProperties.generateURL()
method.
