Configuring ADS for Snowflake Key Pair authentication

customer request Requires Documentation
Priority Critical

Component DB - Snowflake
Version 21.0
Hello. Please point me to documentation or give me instructions regarding how to set up ssh key pair authentication for Snowflake servers in ADS. Here is the Snowflake documentation - how do I make this work with ADS?

https://docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/key-pair-auth.html

I have tried what you suggested but it doesn't work - please see screenshots below. When I add the string you suggested and test it asks me for a user name:

[cid:image001.png@01D715AC.3EE5E150]

When I add the user name on the General tab and try to test again, it generates another error because there’s no password:

[cid:image002.png@01D715AC.E66DE940]

Once I add the password (which defeats the whole point of key authentication) it works, but it sends a two-factor authentication push. This means that it is authenticating through the username/password/2FA way which is what we are trying to not do – we want to authenticate through the key pair.

Has Aquafold actually tested key pair authentication? Can you guys test it and send me the right way to do it? I’ve spent quite a bit of time before submitting the support case trying all the things you have suggested but it didn’t work.
