After running a query, the Query Analyzer still acts like the query is running, after the results have been returned. This is happening when connecting to a SQLServer 2014 database. It does not seem to matter how simple or complex the query is, the behavior seems to happen at random. Clicking on the Stop button in the Query Analyzer windows does not have any effect. If the Query Analyzer window is closed, then open a new one and run the same query, it may complete successfully, or may stall again.
This was tested both the Microsoft and the jTDS driver with both having the same problem.
This seems to be happening because AFScriptContext->createQueryResultSet that we are not checking whether data masking is enabled and so we are doing the post background processing anyway. This is a bug in the masking implementation and should be fixed. More information can be found in Idera issue 269.
Hi Asif,
I checked this fix into V22. Please have a look and see if it is correct. This will fix part of issue 11334. If it looks good, I will retrofit it into the previous versions.
SVN# 58786
Thanks,
Tom
