Currently, there is no way to create a byte[] in AquaScript.

This

var b = new java.lang.reflect.Array.newInstance(java.lang.Byte.TYPE, length);

would have worked, but java.reflect.* package is disabled for security reasons (AquaScriptSecurityController).
