informix - entering a string into a clob data type column give an error

create a table with a column of type clob

open the table in Table Data Editor

the clob column is editable, enter a string and click save. It gives the following error:

Unexpected Error: Query(1/1) blob_input: cannot convert LO from argument string

The column should be either made not editable or it should use some convertion

clob field in infomix is editable.
