Seems to be an ADS bug.

 

sql.completion.Query uses Utilities.getIdentifierBefore which selects an identifier (see EditorPreferences.setIdentifierAcceptor).

 

This identifier defines what text is "replaced" by the completion. And "$" is no part of an identifier -- you can check this by double-clicking the table name and notice that the editor selects part of the name, not the whole "Cust$omer".

 

But somewhere in SQLStdCompletionQuery (I think) you define the substring for the completion filtering (_txtAfterSpace?) which does include "$".

 

So there is a mismatch in what you consider an identifier: when you show the completion you filter on "Cust$om" but when you insert the completion (after Enter keypress) you just replace the identifier closest to the cursor which is "om"; hence you get the text "Cust$Cust$omer".

 

A fix would be for Query to use the same logic to determine the identifier next to the caret in order to compute a proper "anchorOffset". Now sure the impact of this design-wise.

 

The other fix would be to use EditorPreferences.setIdentifierAcceptor to register an acceptor that also accepts "$". Not as proper, but it would close this issue.
