This occurs on at least OS X (10.8) and Windows XP 64
1. execute a query and generate a chart ( ensure the Legend is visible ).
2. grab the chart and slide it to the right so that its right edge slides under the chart legend.
3. the chart will disappear under the legend's left hand edge as if there is a column of the background color the width of the legend that covers everything underneath it.
4. Resize the Chart pane so that the left side squeezes in to touch the left side of the legend. The chart will pop into view under the legend once the pane is narrower than the legend width.

The animation named "sliding_chart_under_legend" color scheme looks odd because of how I recorded it as a GIF... don't worry about its colors, just notice how the chart hides under the legend width. Its colors look fine on my monitor.
