CVS Browse Repository gives Null Pointer Exception

The CVS errors mentioned below occurs in previous versions of Aqua Data Studio 12.0, 11.0, 10 etc... as well

1. I set up a CVS Server in my local machine and then tried to connect using Aqua Data Studio

2. If I Checkout-->CVS-->Browse button after entering all the server information, I get Null Pointer Exception

3. Once I successfully Checkout and then try to use Aqua Data Studio client, I get the below error for all the operations, becuase the CVS Server information is not saved properly. I can use a Third Party Tool and use the CVS commands on my local server without any problem

Operating Environment: Linux (4.4.0-51-generic, amd64) / UTF-8 / en / IN / Oracle Corporation 1.8.0_102-b14

Memory: Max=704,643,072; Total=670,040,064; Free=509,993,064; CPUs=8

Steps to reproduce:

Launch ADS.
Open View Log.
Go to files tab on schema browser > Right click on 'Filesystem' tree node > Version Control > CVS > Checkout.
Click on 'Browse' button next to 'Checkout Directory' field > Create a new folder having a subfolder 'CVSROOT' in it and select this newly created folder from 'Select Checkout Directory' window.
Select 'Locally mounted folder (:local:)' from 'Protocol' drop-down menu > Enter the pathname of 'CVSROOT' folder in the CVSROOT field.
Click on 'OK' button in 'Configure Version Control' window > Checkout window shows 'Operation failed' message and NPE occurs in view log.

Actual Result: java.lang.NullPointerException is thrown on entering 'CVSROOT' pathname and Checkout Directory path in the same window.

Observations:

After clicking on OK, observe that the checkout status window shows 'Operation failed' > click on 'Ok' > Observe that the selected folder under Checkout Directory field gets added to the filesystem tree node.
This issue is not observed if we first mount the directory and then configure the CVS > Checkout.

Steps to reproduce:

Enter the correct settings for local CVS reporsitory > Click on 'OK' > CVS respository mounted successfully.
Right click on the tree node > Version Control > Properties [As mentioned in scenario 3 on issue description server information is not saving properly]
Click on 'OK' button > 'java.lang.IllegalArgumentException' is thrown in the view log
