Clone a Git repo via File System -> Version Control -> Git -> Clone Repository
Use a remote repo which contain symbolic links. A sample repo is https://github.com/paralect/robomongo.git; Courtesy: Niels
Processing status runs endlessly showing the status (Updating references 100%)

This seems to be a known issue in jGit.

There are some patches available for this issue based of java 1.7 support for symbolic links.

We could evaluate the patch once ADS migrate to java 1.7

Looks like upgrading to jdk 1.7 would resolve this issue.
