discontinued Groups & Authorities and replaced them both with Roles: CREATE/ALTER/DROP ROLE DDL
It would seem that though a lot of the implementation for this was done, they did not modify the catalog tables to correctly catalog this data. sp_displayroles function is not providing the correct information. There are no new catalog tables that show the role properties. Currently roles are stored in the sysusers catalog view as a user. Datastudio can connect and work with SAP Sybase IQ 16 but the Security->Users tree node is not correctly displaying data as roles are jumbo'd with users in the catalog table.
Will move issue to version 18 and we need to research and see if SAP is providing any newer versions then sp04 that may have catalog data for roles.
