Aqua Data Studio 20.5 allows you to connect to your databases through an SSH tunnel. Also, we added the syntax to recognize block comments inside Fluidshell.
You can now configure port forwarding in your SSH connections. Right-click on the Servers panel and choose Register SSH Server. Fill in the name of the connection, the authentication credentials (login and password), and the location (host and port). Then fill in the Port Forwarding section (Local Source Port and Destination); you can add multiple port forwarding entries using the same SSH server. After you save the SSH Connection, you can right click on it and select "Open" to establish a connection to the SSH server and enable the port forwarding. Once enabled, any connection to Localhost on the configured local port will be forwarded to the configured destination server and port securely via SSH.
One obvious way to make use of port forwarding is to establish a secure connection from ADS to a database. For example, instead of connecting directly to the database server, you connect to the configured port on Localhost. Another use case is to be able to connection from ADS to a database that is not directly reachable from the computer where ADS is running. In this case you're using the SSH server as a "jump box" in order to reach the database server. Make sure that the SSH session with port forwarding is and remains open in order for the port forwarding to remain enabled.
See Configuring an SSH Tunnel for more details.
Block comments with the syntax /*____*/ is now supported in Aqua Data Studio. You can enable this option inside the File > Options > Scripts per database type. This feature is working on all three command-line interfaces (SQL, Fluid, and Shell).
