The Email Queue screen provides a summary of all email service related status and configuration. You can also use this page to determine if the system is encountering any issues with sending out emails. For an overview of how the email service functions, see the Basic Concepts: Email Service page. All emails, whether system generated or generated via AquaScripts, share the same email queue. On this page:
The action bar contains a toggle button to either pause or resume the email engine. The status of the email engine is displayed to the right of the button.
# of Archived Emails: A count of the number of emails in the archived directory. Emails are placed in the archive directory only after being successfully sent to the SMTP server and if archiving has been turned on.
# of Outstanding Emails: A count of the number of emails in the outstanding directory. A high number here suggests that emails might not be successfully being delivered to the SMTP server. See Sent Email Status below for further troubleshooting.
# of Invalid Emails: A count of the number of emails in the invalid directory, as specified in System Settings. An invalid email is one that cannot be sent due to invalid format and hence the email engine will not attempt to send it. To see the cause of the error, browse to your invalid folder via your Operating System and then drill into each subfolder and open the [.error] file to see root cause.
Last successful email sent: Date and time of the most recent email successfully delivered to the configured SMTP server, since the application server was lasted started.
# of outstanding emails with send errors: If this # is non-zero, then the email engine has encountered problems communicating with the SMTP server.
Send email error: Most recent error message received when attempting to send communicate with SMTP server. To further investigate, you can browse to your outstanding folder via your Operating Syste and you will see a separate folder for every email that is yet to be successfully delivered. You can then drill into these folders and see if a .error file exists. If so, open the .error file to determine the cause of the error.
The values displayed here denote the current settings that are being used by the email service. Some of these values might be different than those seen in System Settings because certain values do not take effect until application server restart.
For an explanation of these values, see Configuration: System Settings.
