Aqua Data Studio Version 17.0 offers you a tool that simplifies your data import. The new Excel Import tool imports data directly from single or multiple Excel sheets into existing or new database tables. There is no longer a need to first export your Excel data into csv format and then import one csv file at a time. The Excel import tool also examines your Excel file and automatically generates intelligent data mappings. Excel Import supports both .xls and .xlsx formats and works with all 26 databases that Aqua Data Studio supports.
By choosing an Excel file to import, the Import Data option automatically launches the Excel Import wizard to import your data into database tables. Aqua Data Studio maps each sheet of the Excel workbook into a separate database table. You can import the data into a new destination table or you can select a pre-existing table. You can also define your source and destination column mappings on a per worksheet basis.
Aqua Data Studio allows you a great degree of flexibility in defining your column mappings. For new destination tables you may change the destination column names and data type or, for full flexibility, launch our table creator UI. For existing tables you may specify whether to delete existing data prior to starting the import. For all tables you choose the columns to import, the columns to ignore and the mapping between source and destination columns.
