Filter Enhancements

Aqua Data Studio version 18.0 adds new filtering capabilities to Visual Analytics. Date filters relative to the current or specified date can now be created. The new Keep Only and Exclude actions filter data directly from the chart view and also from color and shape legends. The new option in the Top N filter allows you to use a parameter for specifying the limit value.

Relative Date Filters

Relative date filters allow you to create dynamic filters relative to the current or specified date.
Visual Analytics uses Today as the anchor date and creates a running window that always show the values related to Today with the specified range.
Visual Analytics allows setting a date grouping (e.g. years or quarters), a relative timeframe (e.g. previous or next), and a date to use as the anchor.

Top N Filter

The Top N filter now allows you to use a parameter for specifying the limit value.
 

Keep Only and Exclude Filters

Filter data directly from the chart view using the new Keep Only and Exclude options from the tooltip. The tooltip on color and shape legend values also allows filtering records through keep only and exclude.

Keep Only 

Keep Only creates a new Inclusion filter and includes only the highlighted records in the filter. The following example shows the shipping methods with the highest freight value for each state.

Exclude 

Exclude creates a new Exclusion filter and excludes the highlighted records in the filter. The following example excludes the shipping methods with the lowest freight value for each state from the view.

Keep Only and Exclude via Legends

Visual Analytics also allows filtering data directly from the Color and Shape legends.
